DE Plant, Gorman product, might leave TCU for UNLV

-

Texas Christian freshman defensive end Adam Plant Jr., a Bishop Gorman product, entered the NCAA transfer portal and said Saturday he was considering UNLV.

Plant was rated the nation’s No. 41 defensive end by 247Sports when he signed with Arizona in 2018. He never enrolled, choosing instead to improve his academic standing.

Then Plant chose the Horned Frogs earlier this year over Southern California, Oregon, Penn State and Arizona. He played in 12 games this season and made three tackles.

■ FCS: At Fargo, N.D., Christian Watson scored on a 75-yard catch and a 70-yard reverse on consecutive secondquarter touches for two-time defending champion North Dakota State (15-0) in its 42-14 semifinal win over Montana State (11-4). The Bison, who have won 36 straight games, will face James Madison (14-1), a 30-14 winner over Weber State (11-4), for the title.

■ Division II: At McKinney, Texas, Austin Reed broke the title game record for yards passing before halftime, ultimately throwing for 523 yards and six TDs for West Florida (13-2) in its 4840 win over Minnesota State (14-1) in a matchup of teams seeking a first title.
