-

Edward Phillips was born 12/16/1931 in Weirton, West Virginia and passed away April 1, 2020 in Las Vegas, after experiencing several health-related challenges. His wife, Mary Phillips was by his side, as always. All who knew him would describe Ted as “the nicest person” you could ever meet. He left Weir High and went into the Air Force where he was stationed in Japan. He married the love of his life in 1958. They have enjoyed 61 years of a true partnership and raised two children and two grandchildren. He worked in the Clark County School District from 1961 to 1993. His schools included Knutson Jr. High, Hyde Park Jr High, Vo-Tech HS and Martin MS. All who worked with him would know that Ted had a kind heart. Upon retirement, Ted enjoyed golfing at Muni, tap dancing with Mary, traveling to Spain, China and going on several cruises to different parts of the world. He also enjoyed classes at UNLV and CSN. Mostly, he had fun with both grandchildren. He worshiped at First (Grace) Presbyterian Church from 1961 until he could no longer attend. He taught Sunday School, Bible School, attended Nautilus, was an Elder and he knew exactly where to sit every Sunday. His pew will miss him as much as the people around him will. Ted is survived by his wife, Mary Phillips, his children Brian Phillips and Melanie Dunlop (Phillips). Daughter in law, Linda Phillips. Son in law, Dallas Dunlop. Grandchildren Ryah Dunlop, Taylor Dunlop & Hayli (Knutson) Dunlop and many other nieces and nephews.
