■ 14: At Eugene, Ore., Tyler Shough threw for 227 yards and a TD and ran for 85 yards for the Ducks (1-0, 1-0), who beat the Cardinal (0-1, 0-1) for their 11th straight home win.
Austin Jones ran for 100 yards and two TDs for Stanford, which was without starting quarterback Davis Mills and two others because of COVID-19 testing results and contact tracing.
C.J. Verdell ran for 105 yards and a TD for Oregon, which benefited from four missed field goals by Jet Toner.
■ No. 20 Southern California 28, Arizona State 27: At Los Angeles, Drake London caught a 21-yard TD pass with 1:20 left for the Trojans (1-0, 1-0), who overcame a 13-point deficit in the final three minutes to edge the Sun Devils (0-1, 0-1).
Kedon Slovis threw for 381 yards and two TDs for USC, finding Bru McCoy with a deflected 26-yard score with 2:52 left. Max Williams recovered the ensuing onside kick for the Trojans, leading to London’s score on fourth-and-9. London totaled eight catches for 125 yards.
Jayden Daniels passed for 134 yards and ran for 111 for Arizona State. He threw four straight incompletions to end the Sun Devils’ final drive near midfield.
Freshman DeaMonte Trayanum ran for 87 yards and two TDs for Arizona State, which led 17-14 at halftime and 24-14 midway through the third quarter, when USC was stopped on two running plays for no gain from the Sun Devils’ 6 for a turnover on downs.
■ Colorado 48, UCLA 42: At Boulder, Colo., Jarek Broussard ran for 187 yards and scored three TDs for the Buffaloes (1-0, 1-0), who built an early 28-point lead and held off the Bruins (0-1, 0-1).
Bishop Gorman product Dorian Thompson-Robinson threw for 303 yards and four TDs and ran for 109 yards — including a 65yard TD — for UCLA, which had four first-half turnovers that led to 21 Colorado points.
The second half featured no punts. The Bruins blocked two field goals after intermission, and the Buffaloes made two fourthdown stops in the final quarter.
Sam Noyer threw for 257 yards and a TD and ran for a score for Colorado, which iced the outcome when Dimitri Stanley recovered an onside kick with 1:45 left.
