At Boston, Ian Book threw for 283 yards and three TDs and ran for 85 yards and a score for the Fighting Irish (8-0, 7-0), who amassed 561 yards of offense in their eighth straight win over the Eagles (5-4, 4-4).

No. 9 Miami 25, Virginia Tech 24: At Blacksburg, Va., D’Eriq King threw for 255 yards and ran for a score for the Hurricanes (7-1, 6-1), who erased an 11-point third-quarter deficit. The Hokies (4-4, 4-3) didn’t score on their final five drives.

North Carolina 59, Wake Forest 53: At Chapel Hill, N.C., Sam Howell threw for program records of 550 yards and six TDs and scored the goahead TD on a 20-yard run with 4:11 left for the Tar Heels (6-2, 6-2). Sam Hartman threw for 429 yards and four TDs for the Demon Deacons (4-3, 3-3), who led 45-24.

Virginia 31, Louisville 17: At Charlottes­ville, Va., Brennan Armstrong ran for two TDs and threw for another for the Cavaliers (3-4, 3-4), who were outgained 478-368 in yards of offense. Malik Cunningham ran for 197 yards and two TDs on 20 carries for the Cardinals (2-6, 1-6).

North Carolina State 38, Florida State 22: At Raleigh, N.C., Bailey Hockman threw for 265 yards and three TDs and ran for a score against his former team for the Wolfpack (5-3, 5-3), who dealt the Seminoles (2-6, 1-6) their third straight loss.

No. 6 Florida 63, Arkansas 35: At Gainesvill­e, Fla., Kyle Trask threw for 356 yards and six TDs, his team-record sixth straight game with at least four TD passes, for the Gators (5-1, 5-1), who allowed the Razorbacks (3-4, 3-4) to score on a 47-yard pass, an 83-yard run and an 82-yard catch-and-run.

Mississipp­i 59, South Carolina 42: At Oxford, Miss., Matt Corral threw for 513 yards and four TDs, including a go-ahead 91-yarder to Elijah Moore in the fourth quarter, and ran for a TD for the Rebels (3-4, 3-4). Kevin Harris ran for 243 yards and five TDs on 25 carries for the Gamecocks (2-5, 2-5).

Kentucky 38, Vanderbilt 35: At Lexington, Ky., Chris Rodriguez ran for 149 yards and two TDs on 13 carries for the Wildcats (3-4, 3-4), who scored on six of their first seven drives. QBs Ken Seals and Mike Wright each accounted for two TDs for the Commodores (0-6, 0-6).

No. 10 Indiana 24, Michigan State 0: At East Lansing, Mich., Ty Fryfogle had 11 catches for 200 yards and two TDs for the Hoosiers (4-0, 4-0), who have won their first four league games for the first time since 1987. The Spartans (1-3, 1-3) had two first-half intercepti­ons.

■ No. 23 Northweste­rn 27, Purdue 20: At West Lafayette, Ind., Peyton Ramsey threw for 212 yards and three TDs — all to Ramaud Chiaokhiao­Bowman — for the Wildcats (4-0, 4-0), who held the Boilermake­rs (2-1, 2-1) to 2 yards rushing.

Nebraska 30, Penn State 23: At Lincoln, Neb., Luke McCaffrey had a hand in two TDs in his first start for the Cornhusker­s (1-2, 1-2), who led 27-6 at halftime. The Nittany Lions (0-4, 0-4) are off to their worst start since 2001.

■ Illinois 23, Rutgers 20: At Piscataway, N.J., James McCourt overcame fourth-quarter missed field goals of 54 and 45 yards to kick a 47-yarder with three seconds left to send the Illini (1-3, 1-3) past the Scarlet Knights (1-3, 1-3).

No. 11 Oregon 43, Washington State 29: At Pullman, Wash., Tyler Shough threw for 312 yards and four TDs for the Ducks (2-0, 2-0), who had 582 yards of offense. Jayden de Laura threw for 321 yards and two TDs for the Cougars (1-1, 1-1), who led 19-14 at halftime.

No. 20 Southern California 34, Arizona 30: At Tucson, Ariz., Vavae Malepeai bulled through multiple tacklers on an 8-yard TD run with 25 seconds left for the Trojans (2-0, 2-0). Grant Gunnell threw for 286 yards and three TDs for the Wildcats (0-1, 0-1).

■ Colorado 35, Stanford 32: At Stanford, Calif., Sam Noyer threw for 255 yards and two TDs and ran for two scores for the Buffaloes (2-0, 2-0). The Cardinal (0-2, 0-2) lost their home opener for the first time since 2007.

Texas Tech 24, Baylor 23: At Lubbock, Texas, Jonathan Garibay kicked a 25-yard field goal on the last play after hitting from 48, 28 and 46 yards in his first game for the Red Raiders (3-5, 2-5). Linebacker Jalen Pitre returned an intercepti­on for a TD for a second straight week for the Bears (1-5, 1-5).

West Virginia 24, Texas Christian 6: At Morgantown, W.Va., Jarrett Doege threw for 212 yards and two TDs and ran for a score for the Mountainee­rs (5-3, 4-3), who held the Horned Frogs (3-4, 3-4) without a TD for the first time in five years.

San Diego State 34, Hawaii 10: At Carson, Calif., Greg Bell ran for 160 yards and two TDs on 19 carries for the Aztecs (3-1, 3-1), who had seven sacks. Calvin Turner had four catches for 116 yards and TD for the Rainbow Warriors (2-2, 2-2).

At Logan, Utah, Jalen Cropper had 10 catches for 202 yards and three TDs for the Bulldogs (4-1, 4-1), who led 28-16 at halftime. Savon Scarver took a kickoff 94 yards for his sixth return TD for the Aggies (0-4, 0-4).
