14: At Raleigh, N.C., linebacker Vi Jones blocked Alex Barbir’s 39-yard field-goal try with 1:18 left for the Wolfpack (6-3), who held the Flames (8-1) to 279 yards of offense. Zonovan Knight ran for two TDs for N.C. State.

Pittsburgh 47, Virginia Tech 14: At Pittsburgh, Kenny Pickett threw for 404 yards and two TDs and ran for a score for the Panthers (5-4, 4-4), who totaled 556 yards of offense and dealt the Hokies (4-5, 4-4) their fourth loss in five games.

At Charlottes­ville, Va., Brennan Armstrong completed 16 passes for 383 yards and four TDs for the Cavaliers (4-4). The Wildcats (1-5) have had two games canceled and were a late scheduling addition for Virginia.

Oregon State 31, California 27:

At Corvallis, Ore., Tristan Gebbia became the first league QB since 1996 to throw for a TD, run for a TD and catch a TD pass in one game, helping the Beavers (1-2, 1-2) edge the Golden Bears (0-2, 0-2). Jermar Jefferson ran for 196 yards and a TD for Oregon State.

Washington 44, Arizona 27: At Seattle, Dylan Morris threw for 230 yards and two TDs for the Huskies (2-0, 2-0), who dealt the Wildcats (0-2, 0-2) their ninth straight loss. Arizona was shut out until the fourth quarter.

No. 7 Cincinnati 36, Central Florida 33:

At Orlando, Fla., Desmond Ridder threw for 338 yards and two TDs and ran for two scores for the Bearcats (8-0, 6-0 American Athletic). The Knights (5-3, 4-3) led 14-3 in the first quarter and 25-22 in the third.

No. 8 Brigham Young 66, North Alabama 14: At Provo, Utah, Tyler Allgeier ran for 141 yards and two TDs for the Cougars (9-0), who scored TDs on all six first-half drives. The Lions (0-4) had allowed 21 total first-half points through three games.

■ No. 15 Coastal Carolina 34, Appalachia­n State 23: At Conway, S.C., Grayson McCall threw for 200 yards and two TDs and ran for 69 yards and a TD for the Chanticlee­rs (8-0, 6-0 Sun Belt), who trailed 17-9 at halftime in their first win over the Mountainee­rs (6-2, 4-1) in seven meetings.
