Michigan State 29, No. 11 Northweste­rn 20: At East Lansing, Mich., Matt Coghlin kicked a tiebreakin­g 48-yard field goal with 3:35 left for the Spartans (2-3, 2-3), who wasted a 17-0 lead. The Wildcats (5-1, 5-1) had three fourth-quarter turnovers.

No. 12 Indiana 27, Maryland 11: At Bloomingto­n, Ind., Stevie Scott III ran for 80 yards and three TDs for the Hoosiers (5-1, 5-1), who had three intercepti­ons. Dontay Demus Jr. had six catches for 114 yards and a TD for the Terrapins (2-2, 2-2).

Penn State 27, Michigan 17: At Ann Arbor, Mich., Sean Clifford threw for 163 yards and scored one of the three rushing TDs by the Nittany Lions (1-5, 1-5), who never trailed. Hassan Haskins ran for 101 yards and two TDs for the Wolverines (2-4, 2-4).

Rutgers 37, Purdue 30: At West Lafayette, Ind., backup QB Johnny Langan completed all four of his passes for 95 yards and ran for 95 yards to key a second-half comeback by the Scarlet Knights (2-4, 2-4). Zander Horvath ran for 101 yards and a TD for the Boilermake­rs (2-3, 2-3), who led by 10 at intermissi­on.

No. 21 Oklahoma State 50, Texas Tech 44: At Stillwater, Okla., Dezmon Jackson ran for 235 yards and three TDs for the Cowboys (6-2, 5-2), who returned an onside kick and an intercepti­on for TDs. Erik Ezukanma had seven catches for 183 yards and two TDs for the Red Raiders (3-6, 2-6).

Baylor 32, Kansas State 31: At Waco, Texas, John Mayers kicked a 30-yard field goal on the final play for the Bears (2-5, 2-5), who overcame a 24-15 fourth-quarter deficit to edge the Wildcats (4-5, 4-4). Charlie Brewer threw for 349 yards and two TDs and ran for two TDs for Baylor.

Texas Christian 59, Kansas 23: At Lawrence, Kan., Max Duggan threw for three TDs and ran for a score for the Horned Frogs (4-4, 4-40, who amassed 337 yards rushing. The Jayhawks (0-8, 0-7) yielded at least 52 points for a fourth straight game.

At Boulder, Colo., Sam Noyer threw for a TD and ran for another for the Buffaloes (3-0), who didn’t trail. Cornerback Darren Hall returned an intercepti­on 57 yards for a TD for the Aztecs (33), who were without top running back Greg Bell (sore ankle).
