Katrina Denise Neyland was born on May 9, 1959 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to the late Leedell Wallace Neyland and Della Louise (Adams) Neyland. She fought the good fight in life, finished her course and went home to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 15, 2021. Katrina was the third child born to Leedell and Della Neyland. She was welcomed to an active, loving home with her siblings Beverly Ann Neyland and Keith Wallace Neyland. Katrina accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Trinity United Presbyteri­an church and Bethel AME Church both in Tallahasse­e, Florida, she served diligently as an active member. Upon moving to Henderson, Nevada in 2006, she became a member of the First AME Church and remained a faithful member until her death. Katrina Denise Neyland earned the B.S. and M.S. degree from Florida A&M University. She has served FAMU as a Reading Laboratory Specialist Assistant for nine years and for 12 years for the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceut­ical Sciences at FAMU. In 1995 she was chosen as “Faculty of the Year” in the College of Pharmacy. Katrina married Lawrence Brown on February 19, 2000. She is lovingly missed by her step-daughters Timetra Laws and Tiffany Brown from Jacksonvil­le, Florida. Katrina was born with a major challenge in her life, it never interfered with her inspiratio­ns or aspiration­s. She loved life, traveling, reading, dining at restaurant­s, and her many friends Katrina leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sister Beverly A. Neyland, her niece Lindsey W. Neyland, her sister in law Marion W. Neyland, a special cousin Charles L Williams, cousins Josette Jackson, Joanna Boss, Theodora Neyland Shelley, Victoria H. Washington, Selestine Hardy, Clementine Miller, Julie Borselli, Arivnola Scott, Deborah Robinson, Ashley Lyons, Baltimore Scott, Kevin Arnold and a numerous number of relatives and family friends.
