SYLVIA HARRIS

-

Sylvia Harris, age 78, passed away at her Henderson, NV home on Thursday, January 14, with her loving husband Louis Harris and family by her side. Sylvia was loved by everyone and will be missed dearly by all that were blessed to know her. Our beloved Sylvia was born on January 15, 1942, in Bexleyheath, Kent County, a town in south-east London, England. As a child she loved to dance and by 1959, Sylvia left home and began her career as a professional dancer with the Blue Bell Girls. She traveled to Las Vegas, NV with the Lido de Paris where she danced in the Lido at the Stardust Hotel. It was while dancing in Las Vegas, she met and married her husband of 60 years and together they raised their four sons. Sylvia was a beautiful, talented, graceful, and elegant lady who lit up the room every time she entered. She always made you feel welcome and even when she was not well, she was the first to ask you how you were feeling and if you were ok. She was a loving compassionate lady with unbelievable fight and strength beyond measure. Sylvia loved her family more than life itself and she was like a mother and grandmother to many. Sylvia was preceded in death by her father Burt Peters, mother Vera Peters, brother Terry Peters and eldest son Adam Harris. She is survived by her husband, Louis Harris, her sons, Alexander Harris, Jonathan (Laurie) Harris and Michael (Tara) Harris. She is also survived by her brothers, Brian (Sylvia) Peters and David Peters. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Brittney (Kevin) Lopez, Blake Harris, Ryan Harris, Amanda Harris, Tripp Hayes, and her great-grandchildren Mia and Zoe. Private memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123, with a memorial reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, an expression of memorial donations may be made to a Cancer Foundation or Cancer Charity of your choice.
