■ North Carolina 78, No. 11 Florida State 70: At Chapel Hill, N.C., Walker Kessler had 20 points for the Tar Heels (158, 9-5 ACC), who gave coach Roy Williams his 900th win. The Seminoles (14-4, 10-3) led by 16 in the first half.

■ Xavier 77, No. 13 Creighton 69: At Cincinnati, Paul Scruggs had 23 points for the Musketeers (13-5, 6-5 Big East), who led by 13 while halting a four-game win streak by the Bluejays (17-6, 13-5).

■ No. 18 Texas Tech 68, No. 14 Texas 59: At Lubbock, Texas, Mac McClung had 16 points to lead five double-figure scorers for the Red Raiders (15-8, 7-7 Big 12), who topped the Longhorns (14-7, 8-6) to halt a three-game skid.

■ No. 16 Virginia Tech 84, Wake Forest 46: At Blacksburg, Va., Keve Aluma had 23 points for the Hokies (15-5, 9-4 ACC), who buried the Demon Deacons (6-13, 3-13) in their most lopsided league win.

■ Utah 71, No. 19 Southern California 61: At Salt Lake City, Alphonso Plummer had 19 points for the Utes (10-11, 7-10 Pac-12), who held the Trojans (19-6, 13-5) to 37-percent shooting.

At Fayettevil­le, Ark., Justin Smith had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Razorbacks (19-5, 11-4 SEC), who downed the Tigers (14-8, 9-6) for their sixth straight win.

■ No. 21 Loyola-Chicago 65, Southern Illinois 58, OT: At Chicago, Cameron Krutwig had 20 points for the Ramblers (214, 16-2 Missouri Valley), who scored the last eight points. Lance Jones had 30 points for the Salukis (11-13, 5-13).

■ Colorado State 72, Air Force 49: At Fort Collins, Colo., David Roddy and Isaiah Stevens each had 19 points for the Rams (15-4, 12-3), who shot 61.0 percent. The Falcons (5-18, 3-16) were outrebound­ed 31-15.
