Wild finish in OT pads Minnesota’s win streak

Dumba scores in final second to thwart Kings

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Matt Dumba scored in the final second of overtime to lead the Minnesota Wild to a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

With time running out, Minnesota right wing Mats Zuccarello dug the puck out of a scrum on the side boards and slipped a pass to Dumba in the slot. The Wild defenseman made a move and flipped a wrist shot past goaltender Calvin Petersen with 0.3 seconds left.

Joel Eriksson Ek, Nico Sturm and Kirill Kaprizov also scored for the Wild. Kaapo Kahkonen made 25 saves as Minnesota won its sixth straight.

Drew Doughty, Austin Wagner and Adrian Kempe scored for the Kings, who overcame a 3-0 deficit to force overtime. Petersen stopped 38 shots.

■ Maple Leafs 4, Oilers 0: At Edmonton, Alberta, Jack Campbell had 30 saves in his third NHL shutout. League-leading Toronto (16-4-2) was without the league’s top goal scorer, Auston Matthews, because of a right hand/wrist injury.

■ Lightning 5, Stars 0: At Tampa, Fla., Andrei Vasilevski­y had 20 saves in his 23rd shutout and second in as many games, and Steven Stamkos and Anthony Cirelli each had a goal and an assist in Tampa Bay’s fourth straight win.

■ Avalanche 6, Coyotes 2: At Glendale, Ariz., Jacob MacDonald broke a second-period tie with his first goal of the season, and former Golden Knight Pierre-Edouard Bellemare scored one of Colorado’s four third-period goals.

■ Jets 2, Canadiens 1, OT: At

Winnipeg, Manitoba, former Golden Knight Paul Stastny scored 36 seconds into overtime to back Connor Hellebuyck, who had 40 saves. Former Knights prospect Nick Suzuki scored for Montreal.

■ Penguins 4, Islanders 3, OT: At Uniondale, N.Y., Kris Letang scored his second goal of the game with 26 seconds left in overtime, and Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist for Pittsburgh.

■ Predators 2, Blue Jackets 1:

At Nashville, Tenn., Mattias Ekholm scored twice in the second period to back Juuse Saros, who had 29 saves, as Columbus lost its fourth straight.

■ Flyers 3, Sabres 0: At Buffalo, N.Y., Brian Elliott had 23 saves in his 42nd shutout and second this season, both against Buffalo, and Sean Couturier had a goal and an assist.

■ Flames 6, Senators 3: At Ottawa, Ontario, Mikael Backlund had a goal and two assists for Calgary, which got goals from six players and halted Ottawa’s three-game win streak.

■ Blues 7, Sharks 6: At San Jose, Calif., Marco Scandella’s second goal of the game at 7:14 of the third period put St. Louis ahead to stay, and the Blues halted a three-game skid.

■ Capitals 5, Devils 2: At Newark, N.J., Garnet Hathaway and Daniel Sprong scored in the opening 5:06 for Washington, which is 5-1-1 in its past seven games.

■ Hurricanes 4, Panthers 3, SO:

At Sunrise, Fla., Martin Necas scored the decisive shootout goal after Florida had rallied from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits.

■ Red Wings 5, Blackhawks 3: At Chicago, Frans Nielsen had a goal and an assist for Detroit, which won its second straight.
