Clippers beat former coach en route to fifth win in row

LOS ANGELES — Kawhi Leonard scored 28 points, Terance Mann added a season-high 23, and the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Philadelph­ia 76ers 122-112 on Saturday in their first game against former coach Doc Rivers.

Rivers led the Clippers for seven seasons and directed them to six playoff appearance­s. He took the Philadelph­ia job less than a week after being fired by Los Angeles.

Leonard missed Thursday’s game at San Antonio because of a sore right foot but didn’t show any ill effects. The star forward had 19 points in the first half, including 12 in the second quarter.

Mann made his first eight shots from the field and finished 10 of 12. Paul George added 24 points for the Clippers, who have won five straight and six of seven.

Tobias Harris had 29 points for the Sixers, who had a six-game road win streak snapped. Danny Green added 17 points and Shake Milton 16.

■ Pelicans 112, Mavericks 103: At New Orleans, Zion Williamson scored 38 points, including 10 during New Orleans’ 18-8 run in the final 3:42. Luka Doncic (illness) and Kristaps Porzingis (rest) sat out for Dallas.

■ Kings 100, Cavaliers 98: At Sacramento, Calif., Harrison Barnes hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer for Sacramento after catching an inbounds pass from the opposite end of the court. De’Aaron Fox had 36 points for the Kings.

■ Celtics 111, Thunder 94: At Oklahoma City, Jayson Tatum scored 20 of his 27 points in the second half for Boston. Moses Brown had 21 points and an Oklahoma City record-tying 23 rebounds.

■ Jazz 126, Grizzlies 110: At Salt Lake City, Donovan Mitchell scored 35 points for Utah, which hit 19 3-pointers and shot 50 percent in its 19th straight home win.

■ Knicks 102, Bucks 96: At Milwaukee, MVP Giannis Antetokoun­mpo (left knee sprain) and three other injured starters sat out for Milwaukee in its second straight loss.

■ Spurs 120, Bulls 104: At San Antonio, Jakob Poeltl scored 20 points for San Antonio, which halted a four-game skid and dealt Chicago its third loss in a row.

■ Rockets 129, Timberwolv­es 107: At Minneapoli­s, Kevin Porter Jr. scored 25 points for Houston in its second win in four games after a 20-game skid.

■ Wizards 106, Pistons 92: At Washington, Russell Westbrook had 19 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists for Washington in its second win in 10 games.
