Predators top Blackhawks, maintain grip on wild card

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mikael Granlund had a goal and an assist to lead Nashville past Chicago 4-3 on Saturday.

Eeli Tolvanen, Roman Josi and Matt Duchene also scored for the Predators, who stayed tied with Dallas for the two West wild-card spots, four points ahead of the Golden Knights. Juuse Saros had 28 saves for Nashville.

Patrick Kane had a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks in their ninth loss in 10 games.

■ Stars 2, Sharks 1: At Dallas, Michael Raffl scored a short-handed goal in the second period to put Dallas up 2-0 and back Jake Oettinger, who stopped 23 shots, in the Stars’ seventh straight home win over San Jose.

■ Kings 2, Blue Jackets 1: At Los Angeles, Dustin Brown and Phillip Danault scored in the first period to back Jonathan Quick, who had 21 saves, as Los Angeles won for the second time in six games and halted Columbus’ two-game win streak. The Kings had a 33-22 edge in shots.

■ Flames 9, Coyotes 1: At Calgary, Alberta, Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk each had two goals and two assists, and Dillon Dube also scored twice to back Jacob Markstrom, who had 25 saves in Calgary’s sixth win in seven games. Arizona, outshot 41-26, lost its sixth in a row.

■ Kraken 4, Devils 3, SO: At Seattle, Ryan Donato scored the lone shootout goal, backing Philipp Grubauer, who stopped 23 shots through overtime and two in the shootout, as Seattle halted a two-game skid. New Jersey had won two of three.

■ Avalanche 7, Hurricanes 4: At Denver, J.T. Compher and Nathan MacKinnon each scored twice for Colorado, which won its ninth straight and clinched the West’s top playoff seed. Jordan Staal scored twice for Carolina.

■ Bruins 2, Penguins 1: At Boston, former Golden Knight Erik Haula and Trent Frederic scored first-period goals for Boston, which halted a season-worst threegame skid and clinched a playoff berth.

■ Capitals 8, Canadiens 4: At Montreal, Anthony Mantha scored twice in a 34-second span midway through the second period and had two assists for Washington.

■ Rangers 4, Red Wings 0: At New York, Alexis Lafreniere scored twice, and Igor Shesterkin had 20 saves in his seventh shutout and fifth this season.

■ Blues 6, Wild 5, OT: At St. Louis, Brayden Schenn scored 56 seconds into overtime as St. Louis won its eighth straight and clinched a playoff berth.

■ Maple Leafs 5, Senators 4, OT: At Ottawa, Ontario, Mark Giordano scored with 1:34 left in overtime as Toronto overcame 2-0 and 3-1 deficits.

■ Lightning 7, Jets 4: At Tampa, Fla., Nikita Kucherov had two goals and two assists for Tampa Bay, which tied a season high in goals.

■ Sabres 4, Flyers 3: At Buffalo, N.Y., Tage Thompson’s go-ahead goal capped Buffalo’s four-goal, second-period outburst.
