Long Missouri 3 at buzzer throttles No. 6 Tennessee

Deandre Gholston hit a contested 30foot 3-pointer at the buzzer and totaled 18 points to lift visiting Missouri past No. 6 Tennessee 86-85. The Tigers (19-6, 7-5 SEC) trailed for the final 7:11 until Gholston’s last shot. Reserve Tyreke Key scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half to help the Volunteers (19-6, 8-4) erase a 17-point deficit.

■ No. 3 Alabama 77, Auburn 69: At Auburn, Ala., the Crimson Tide (22-3, 12-0 SEC) remained the lone Power Five team without a league loss by forcing the Tigers (17-8, 7-5) to miss nine straight shots in the final minutes.

■ Stanford 88, No. 4 Arizona 79: At Stanford, Calif., Spencer Jones scored all 18 of his points in the second half for the Cardinal (11-14, 5-9 Pac-12) and helped hold Azuolas Tubelis, the league’s top scorer (20.9 ppg) and rebounder (9.7), to four points and no rebounds. The Wildcats (22-4, 11-4) had won seven straight.

■ No. 8 Virginia 69, Duke 62, OT: At Charlottes­ville, Va., Armaan Franklin had 23 points for the Cavaliers (19-4, 11-3 ACC). The Blue Devils (17-8, 8-6) became the 39th straight league foe to fail to score 70 points at John Paul Jones Arena.

■ Oklahoma State 64, No. 11 Iowa State 56: At Ames, Iowa, John-michael Wright scored 19 points for the Cowboys (16-9, 7-5) in their fifth straight win. The Cyclones (16-8, 7-5) shot 35 percent.

■ Texas Tech 71, No. 12 Kansas State 63: At Lubbock, Texas, the Red Raiders (13-12, 2-10 Big 12) held the Wildcats (19-6, 7-5) to two field goals in the final four minutes.

■ No. 14 Baylor 72, No. 17 Texas Christian 68: At Fort Worth, Texas, Adam Flagler scored 28 points, including 16 straight for the Bears (19-6, 8-4 Big 12) during a stretch when they erased a 10-point second-half lead by the Horned Frogs (17-8, 6-6).

■ No. 18 Indiana 62, Michigan 61: At Ann Arbor, Mich., Trayce Jackson-davis had 28 points and 11 rebounds for the Hoosiers (18-7, 9-5 Big Ten), who didn’t trail in the final 2:58. The Wolverines (1411, 8-6) didn’t score in the final 5:12.

■ No. 23 Creighton 56, No. 21 Connecticu­t 53: At Omaha, Neb., the Bluejays (17-8, 11-3 Big East) held the Huskies (19-7, 8-7) to 32.3 percent shooting. Uconn had what would have been a tying 3-pointer with 2.7 seconds left erased on video review.

■ Illinois 69, No. 24 Rutgers 60: At Champaign, Ill., the Illini (17-7, 8-5 Big Ten) overcame a 47-41 deficit with a 19-0 run during a 10-minute stretch in which the Scarlet Knights (16-9, 8-6) missed 15 straight shots.

Women

■ No. 4 Connecticu­t 67, Georgetown 59: At Washington, Dorka Juhasz had 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Huskies (22-4, 14-1 Big East), who ended their first two-game skid since 1993 and avoided their first three-game slide since that season. Freshman Kennedy Fauntleroy scored 24 points for the Hoyas (12-13, 5-11), who forced 23 turnovers.

■ No. 15 Villanova 99, Seton Hall 65: At Villanova, Pa., Maddy Siegrist had 50 points, the most this season in Division I women’s or men’s play, to set the Big East single-game and career scoring records. Siegrist, a 6-foot-2-inch senior forward for the Wildcats (22-4, 13-2), hit 20 of 26 shots, had 10 rebounds and didn’t commit a foul or a turnover. The Pirates (15-10, 8-7) yielded 64.4 percent shooting.
