Three homers help 51s subdue Grizzlies

-

A trio of home runs and a strong spot start lifted the 51s to a 6-3 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies on Wednesday at Chukchansi Park.

Marc Krauss got the action started for Las Vegas, blasting a three-run home run in the third inning. Roger Bernadina followed with a leadoff home run the following inning, and Travis Taijeron blasted his 15th of the season in the sixth.

Sandwiched between the long balls was a Brandon Nimmo single in the fifth inning to score Gavin Cecchini.

Right-hander Josh Zeid, called up from Double-A Binghamton before the game, made just his second Triple-A start this season, and it was as good as the 51s could have asked for.

Zeid went seven innings and allowed one run on three hits while striking out four and walking a pair.
