Centennial bats erupt for 16 runs, avenge previous loss to Silverado
Centennial scored a dozen runs in the first two innings, and used a 16-hit attack to defeat Silverado 16-1 Wednesday night in the American Legion State Tournament at UNLV’s Wilson Stadium. The Bulldogs avenged a 6-4 openinground defeat at the hands of Silverado to eliminate the Hawks.
Tanner Wright went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Gino Sabey was 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs. Starter Jacob Rogers threw three hitless innings to earn the victory, improving to 5-0 on the season.
Silverado was led by Michael Camburn, who went 2 for 3.
The Bulldogs next face the top-seeded Southern Nevada Blue Sox, Thursday night at 8 p.m.
