■ Rangers 9, Indians 0 — At Arlington, Texas, Cole Hamels (14-4) blanked Cleveland on two singles and one walk and struck out eight in eight innings, and Carlos Gomez hit a three-run homer in his first at-bat with AL West-leading Texas. The AL Central-leading Indians have totaled three runs in their past four games.

■ Rays 2, Red Sox 1 — At St. Petersburg, Fla., Mikie Mahtook ended a stretch of 34 hitless at-bats with a go-ahead RBI double in the seventh off Drew Pomeranz (10-10), and Jake Odorizzi (9-5) improved to 6-0 in eight starts since the All-Star break by holding Boston to one run on five hits in seven innings.

■ Angels 6, Blue Jays 3 — At Toronto, Albert Pujols had two hits and reached the 100-RBI mark for the 13th time, the fifth major leaguer to do so, and Mike Trout had three hits and four RBIs as Los Angeles won consecutiv­e games for the first time since Aug. 2-3 and dealt J.A. Happ (17-4) his first loss in 12 decisions.

■ Tigers 8, Twins 5 — At Minneapoli­s, James McCann had a three-run homer and totaled four hits to back Daniel Norris (2-2), who gave up two runs in 6 1/3 innings, as Detroit dealt Minnesota its seventh straight loss. The Tigers are 10-2 against the Twins and have won eight straight at Target Field.

■ White Sox 7, Mariners 6 — At Chicago, Todd Frazier hit a tying two-run single in the seventh inning and a walk-off RBI single in the ninth as Chicago handed Seattle its third straight loss. Robinson Cano hit his 29th home run for the Mariners, who fell 7½ games behind AL West-leading Texas.
