Trump International workers make $3 less an hour than the neighboring 57,000 union workers employed by other Las Vegas hotels, Khan said. “They are fighting to provide for their families,” she said.

Attempts to reach Trump International representatives for comment were unsuccessful.

A Trump supporter came to the protest holding a sign that read “Christians for Trump” and was booed by the crowds.

The labor group was recently successful in its drive to unionize when the National Labor Relations Board rejected Trump Ruffin Commercial LLC’s challenge of a December election. In that vote, a majority of the 447 votes cast favored union representation.

The NLRB ruling meant the union will represent the more than 500 fulltime, part-time and on-call employees in guest services, housekeeping and food and beverage.

The union has held monthly rallies to protest and won’t stop until there is a contract at Trump International, Khan said. “There was a lot of solidarity from other union members and allies today; people from all of the U.S. were here,” she also said.
