Ethanol can help
I am interested in ethanol since I have experience in the area, and I recently published a book titled “The Science of Ethanol.” I read Tom Keller’s Feb. 13 letter on the topic, “It’s a gas.” I don’t disagree with Mr. Keller’s facts. However, I think it is better to be positive about what one can do (and what is being done) with ethanol.
Solve problems, don’t let them stop you.
Farm runoff of chemicals can be solved with better agriculture practices and creative engineering. Ethanol output is good for the farmers (who need help) since it gives them an outlet for their crops such as corn, used as feedstock in the ethanol fermentation.

The answer obviously is a resounding, “No!” Instead, we keep hearing them whine about needing a change in how our property taxes are assessed so they can raise more money.
Is any one of them on record as how expenses will be controlled? Another resounding, “No!” They feel that the little guy will always be there for them to tap.
News flash: The well will run dry sooner than later. I have an idea though: Surely the cure-all would be to keep re-electing the same ones over and over again. don’t care what your race or color or beliefs are. We are free.
