Vegas Golden Knights executive Kim Frank moves into luxury apartment

-

When Kim Frank, vice president of marketing for the Vegas Golden Knights, accepted a job with our city’s first major professional sports franchise, she became the first person in her family to venture West. A native of Alexandria, Virginia, who has worked her entire career in professional sports marketing with the Washington Capitals, the Washington Wizards and now the Vegas Golden Knights, Frank is a self-admitted sports enthusiast who thrives on the adrenaline and community spirit created by professional sports.

“I love both basketball and hockey, but there is something extra special about hockey,” she said. “Fans are also a special breed. They are fun, a little zany and fiercely loyal. At games, the majority show up wearing team colors and jerseys, which is something you don’t always see in other sports. I love the energy and enthusiasm of hockey, and I can’t wait to help launch professional hockey right here in Las Vegas.”

For Frank, who is accustomed to living in high-rise apartment towers in major metropolitan areas, Summerlinwasawelcomechangewith its vast trail system, abundant parks and open spaces. But at the same time, she prefers apartment living for its flexibility and low-maintenance lifestyle. So it was no wonder she chose Constellation as her first Las Vegas home.

Located in the Down- town Summerlin area, Constellation is a three-story, 170,000-square-foot luxury apartment community situated on nearly 4.5 acres at Town Center and Griffith Peak drives, just steps from the 106-acre retail, dining and entertainment destination that composes the first phase of Downtown Summerlin.

Jointly developed by The Howard Hughes Corp. and The Calida Group, the gated luxury rental complex features 124 one- and two-bedroom homes ranging from 950 to 1,900 square feet. Resident-exclusive amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center; a spa with tanning services, on-call masseuse and aesthetician; and a resort-style pool with an outdoor barbecue area and poolside daybeds. Monthly rental rates start at $1,500. Currently, more than 70 percent of Constellation apartments already are leased, just months after opening.

In keeping with Downtown Summerlin’s upscale, modern and vibrant aesthetic, Constellation features a contemporary architectural design. Third-floor homes include 20-foot ceilings along with a private walkup to a mezzanine level and a fourth-story rooftop deck. Some residences also include attached garages. An exclusive and comprehensive package from Cox Communications includes its Preferred 50 megabits per second highspeed internet, Homelife security system with a thermostat and camera, and a TV Essential package with more than 70 channels. Additional upgrades to 1GB are also available.

Constellation is part of a long-term build-out of the remaining 200 acres that complete Downtown Summerlin. The area eventually will include a variety of apartment homes, condos, townhomes, retail, public space and office buildings to create a true walkable urban core in the heart of Summerlin.

“Just like accepting this incredible opportunity to help bring hockey to Las Ve- gas, moving to Summerlin was a no-brainer for me,” Frank said. “The community is beautiful, there are many great restaurants nearby and I have virtually no commute.”

Currently, the executive and administrative staff of the Vegas Golden Knights is housed in an office building near the Summerlin Library and Performing Arts Center. They will move into new, permanent headquarters upon completion of the team’s practice facility in Downtown Summerlin in August.

“When the practice facility is done, my five-minute commute goes down to one minute,” Frank said.

So far, Frank gives Summerlin and Constellation a big thumbs-up.

“Most of all, everyone here is so friendly,” Frank said. “From the staff at Constellation to my favorite waitstaff at my go-to restaurants, everyone knows my name here. Kind of like ‘Cheers,’ only better because it’s home.”

Frank anticipates a steady stream of friends and family will visit, especially once the hockey season starts.

“My parents and my siblings love Las Vegas, so I am getting ready to play host. I can’t wait to share my new home, my new Summerlin community, Las Vegas and, of course, the Vegas Golden Knights!”
