Monk helps Kentucky complete biggest comeback with Calipari

LEXINGTON,Ky.— Malik Monk scored 20 points in the second half, including 10 in the final 3:40, as No. 9 Kentucky rallied from a 13-point deficit and held off Vanderbilt 73-67 on Tuesday to clinch a share of the Southeaste­rn Conference regular season title.

After trailing by as many as 19 points in the first half, the Wildcats (25-5, 15-2), who overcame the largest deficit under John Calipari, were still down 47-34 with 13:51 remaining. They clamped down defensivel­y and gave their shooters chances to contribute and earn a hard-fought victory over Vanderbilt (16-14, 9-8).

■ No. 17 Duke 75, No. 15 Florida State 70 — At Durham, N.C., freshman Frank Jackson scored a season-best 22 points and Duke (23-7, 11-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) beat Florida State (23-7, 11-6).

■ No. 16 Purdue 86, Indiana 75 — At West Lafayette, Ind., Caleb Swanigan ROUNDUP scored 21 points and Dakota Mathias added 19 to lead Purdue (24-6, 13-4 Big Ten) past Indiana (16-14, 6-11) for a share of the conference title.

■ No. 24 Iowa State 86, Oklahoma State 83 — At Ames, Iowa, senior Matt Thomas scored 25 points and Iowa State (20-9, 12-5 Big 12) held off Oklahoma State (20-10, 9-8) for its sixth straight win. MOUNTAIN WEST

■ Colorado State 78, Wyoming 76 — At Fort Collins, Colo., Prentiss Nixon scored 23 points and made a 3-pointer with six seconds left to lift Colorado State (21-9, 13-4) to a victory over Wyoming (17-13, 7-10) for its seventh straight win.

■ Fresno State 74, Boise State 67 — At Boise, Idaho, Deshon Taylor scored 26 points and Fresno State (18-11, 10-7) shot 57 percent from 3-point range in its win over Boise State (18-10, 11-6).
