Several spots offer specific escargot dish requested

-

Taste of the Town readers like escargot, and they like it the way C. Emerson Cooper is looking for — in a dish with individual wells and no crust.

“Pamplemousse … has the real McCoy,” Sandy Woolf wrote in an email. “Lots of butter and garlic and good-sized escargot.” Pamplemousse, also recommended by Allen Asch, is at 400 E. Sahara Ave.

Ann Brown and John Berthlesen recommended Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas. Brown also suggested the Golden Steer at 308 W. Sahara Ave. and Marche Bacchus at 2620 Regatta Drive. Kelly Rudis and Ron Hirschkind recommended Oh La La French Bistro at 2120 N. Rampart Blvd. and Lee L. Meyers recommended Patisserie Manon at 8751 W. Charleston Blvd., adding that they’re also available there for takeout.

For Sarah Shulman, who’s looking for fresh clams for steamers, Brown recommended Glazier’s Food Marketplace, 8525 W. Warm Springs Road. MORE READER REQUESTS

Meyers is looking for a good sticky bun, “not a cinnamon roll,” preferably with raisins and nuts.

Dave Bourgeois is looking for premium plain chocolate fudge, without nuts.

Virginia L. Fergen is looking for cinnamon and sugar crystals in their own grinder, similar to a product Trader Joe’s once carried.

Judy Hegna is looking for large cans of Sacramento tomato juice.

And Danny Calico is looking for a local source for Farina Mills farina, and reader suggestions for an Italian deli in the eastern part of the valley.
