■ Blue Jays 7, Rangers 5 — At Arlington, Texas, Darwin Barney, who was 4-for-40 in his previous 15 games, hit a two-run homer to cap Toronto’s six-run first. Bishop Gorman product Joey Gallo hit an inside-the-park home run and two doubles for Texas.

■ Mariners 7, Tigers 5 — At Seattle, Justin Verlander took a perfect game into the sixth but ultimately gave up three runs and struck out 11 in 5 2/3 innings, and Nelson Cruz and Robinson Cano each had a two-run double to rally Seattle, which overcame a 4-0 deficit.

■ Yankees 8, Angels 4 — At New

York, Didi Gregorius and Matt Holliday each hit a go-ahead homer to help New York halt a seven-game slide, the Yankees’ longest losing streak since 2007. Martin Maldonado homered twice for Los Angeles.

■ Twins 4, White Sox 2 — At Minneapoli­s, Miguel Sano homered for the second straight game to back Jose Berrios (7-1), who allowed two runs on four hits and struck out eight in eight innings to win his fourth straight start.

■ Indians 5, Orioles 1 — At Baltimore, Carlos Carrasco (8-3) shut out Baltimore on seven hits and struck out 10 over six-plus innings to win his third straight start, and Francisco Lindor homered for Cleveland.

■ Astros 5, Athletics 1 — At Oakland, Calif., Evan Gattis’ two-run single in the sixth broke a scoreless tie, and Mike Fiers (5-2) allowed one run and struck out five in six innings to win his fourth straight decision.

■ Royals 6, Red Sox 4 — At Kansas City, Mo., Salvador Perez fouled off three full-count pitches before hitting his first career grand slam in the eighth off Robby Scott (0-1) to rally Kansas City. Max Scherzer’s bid for his third no-hitter ended with one out in the eighth, and he then gave up two unearned runs. An infield single, an error, a hit-batsman and a wild pitch brought home one run, and Giancarlo Stanton had an RBI single.

■ Padres 3, Cubs 2 — At Chicago,

Erick Aybar hit a tying home run in the sixth, and Luis Torrens walked with the bases loaded in the eighth off Koji Uehara (2-4), the fifth of six Chicago relievers, as San Diego stopped a three-game skid.

■ Dodgers 8, Mets 2 — At Los Angeles, Yasiel Puig hit a three-run homer and Yasmani Grandal two solo shots to back Rich Hill (4-3), who held New York to one run and struck out eight in five innings, as Los Angeles won its sixth straight.

■ Brewers 4, Pirates 3 — At Milwaukee, Domingo Santana hit a goahead two-run homer in the seventh to rally Milwaukee. Brewers starter Junior Guerra gave up three runs on seven hits and five walks in six innings.

■ Braves 5, Giants 3 — At Atlanta, Matt Kemp hit his seventh career walk-off home run, a two-run shot off Cory Gearrin (1-2) in the 11th. Matt Adams hit a two-run homer and Tyler Flowers a solo shot off Jeff Samardzija.
