Jones, former linebacker, dies at 26 in Reno shooting
Former NFL linebacker Ryan Jones was shot dead over the weekend in a Reno apartment, and two other people suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, Nevada authorities said.
Reno Police Department spokesman Tim Broadway declined comment on the circumstances that led to Sunday’s shooting because detectives still were investigating.
Jones, 26, signed with the Baltimore Ravens as a free agent in 2014 and had a stint with the New York Giants before becoming a mixed martial arts fighter.
Jones graduated from Hug High School before attending Sierra College and then Montana Tech in 2011.
