■ Reds 2, Diamondbacks 1 — At Phoenix, Homer Bailey (2-2) struck out five and walked four in 6 2/3 innings, while Scott Schebler doubled in the goahead run as Cincinnati beat Arizona. The Diamondbacks offense sputtered again, with a combined one run in its last 19 innings. Arizona has lost five of their last six games heading into the All-star break.
■ Marlins 10, Giants 8, 11 innings — Giancarlo Stanton homered twice, the second coming after A.J. Ellis’ tiebreaking two-run home run in the 11th inning as Miami held on to beat San Francisco.
■ Cardinals 6, Mets 0 — Tommy
Pham, Paul Dejong and Luke Voit homered and Lance Lynn (7-6) pitched seven innings of three-hit ball as St. Louis beat New York. Lynn did not allow a runner past first and lowered his ERA to 3.61.
■ Phillies 7, Padres 1 — At
Philadelphia, Freddy Galvis hit two of the team’s six home runs and Jerad
Eickhoff threw five shutout innings (1-7) as Philadelphia topped San Diego. The last time the Phillies hit six home runs in a game was Aug. 11, 2004, against Colorado.
■ Nationals 10, Braves 5 — At Washington, Anthony Rendon scored twice, had two RBIS, and the bullpen allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings as Washington beat Atlanta.
■ Pirates 14, Cubs 3 — At Chicago, Francisco Cervelli and Andrew Mccutchen capped a 10-run first inning with consecutive homers off Jon Lester, helping Pittsburgh pound Chicago. Cervelli and Jordy Mercer combined for eight RBIS as the Pirates closed out a 5-2 road trip with their fifth win in six games.
