■ Twins 4, Yankees 2 — At Minneapoli­s, Eddie Rosario had two RBI doubles and Eduardo Escobar added the go-ahead, pinch-hit single in the eighth inning to help Minnesota win as light rain turned into a steady downpour late at Target Field.

■ Rays 3, Athletics 2 — At Oakland, Calif., Jake Odorizzi (6-4) and two relievers combined on a two-hitter, and Tampa Bay won for the third time in four games since the All-star break. Odorizzi went seven innings while striking out five.

■ Bluejays4,redsox3— At Boston, Steve Pearce hit a solo homer, then added the go-ahead single in the eighth inning to help Toronto win the opener of a four-game series with Boston. Robert Osuna pitched the ninth for his 23rd save.

City, Mo., Nicholas Castellano­s and Mikie Mahtook went deep, Jordan Zimmermann (6-7) smothered Kansas City with strikes and Detroit won the opener of a four-game series.

■ Cardinals 6, Mets 3 — At New York, Paul Dejong homered against New York for the fourth straight game and Adam Wainwright (11-5) hit an RBI double while winning his fourth consecutiv­e start for

St. Louis.

■ Marlins 6, Phillies 5, 10 innings

— At Miami, Giancarlo Stanton homered twice and Dee Gordon hit an RBI single with two outs in the 10th inning to help Miami end a three-game losing streak. Philadelph­ia has dropped eight of 10.

■ Pirates 4, Brewers 2 — At Pittsburgh, Gregory Polanco doubled twice, drove in two runs and threw out a potential go-ahead run at the plate to lead surging Pittsburgh, which pulled within six games of first-place Milwaukee.
