Red Sox 9, Indians 1 — At Cleveland, Doug Fister (3-6) gave up a leadoff homer in the first inning to Francisco Lindor and then nothing else, finishing with a career-best one-hitter, and Eduardo Nunez had five RBIS in a Boston rout.

Yankees 13, Tigers 4 — At Detroit, Gary Sanchez hit two home runs — including a first-inning drive estimated at nearly 500 feet — and Masahiro Tanaka (9-10) pitched seven tidy innings in his return from the disabled list to help New York win.

Twins 4, White Sox 1 — At Chicago, Jorge Polanco homered for the third time in two days, smacking one of Minnesota’s three long balls in its fifth win in six games. Kennys Vargas and Eddie Rosario also went deep for the Twins.

Rays6,bluejays5— At St. Petersburg, Fla., Lucas Duda and Corey Dickerson homered in the first two innings and Chris Archer (9-7) struck out 10 to help Tampa Bay hand Toronto its fourth straight loss.

Athletics 6, Orioles 4 — At Baltimore, Ryon Healy homered twice and had three RBIS, Matt Lowrie hit a two-run drive and Oakland beat sinking Baltimore. The Orioles haven’t won consecutiv­e games since Aug. 5-7. Miami completed a doublehead­er sweep.

Dodgers 8, Pirates 5 — At Pittsburgh, Chris Taylor had three of Los Angeles’ 10 hits as the offense picked up the pitching staff in the Dodgers’ eighth win in nine games. Yasmani Grandal hit a two-run home run for Los Angeles.

Diamondbac­ks 7, Mets 4

— At New York, J.D. Martinez hit an early three-run homer, Patrick Corbin (11-11) pitched eight smooth innings to win his third straight stingy start and Arizona won at Citi Field for the second straight night.

Brewers 4, Giants 3 — At San Francisco, Travis Shaw hit a two-out double in the seventh inning to drive in Neil Walker with the go-ahead run and Milwaukee snapped a fivegame losing streak to San Francisco.

Padres 12, Cardinals 4 — At St. Louis, Yangervis Solarte homered and drove in a career-high six runs, Austin Hedges also went deep and San Diego handed St. Louis its third straight loss.
