Indians 3, Royals 2 — At Cleveland, Corey Kluber (17-4) blanked Kansas City on three singles over seven innings, and Edwin Encarnacio­n hit a tworun homer for Cleveland, which improved to 33-5 since Aug. 11 despite mustering merely three hits.

Rangers 4, Angels 2 — At Anaheim, Calif., Bishop Gorman product Joey Gallo hit a 490-foot home run off Garrett Richards (0-2), backing Miguel Gonzalez (8-11), who held Los Angeles to one run on two hits in five innings.

Orioles 6, Yankees 4 — At New York, Tim Beckham hit a three-run homer off Sonny Gray (9-11), who allowed five runs in four innings, and Ubaldo Jimenez (6-10) struck out 10 in five innings as New York’s four-game win streak ended.

St. Petersburg, Fla., Jesus Sucre hit a tiebreakin­g home run off Eduardo Rodriguez (5-6) in the sixth, and Jake Odorizzi (9-8) held Boston to two runs on one hit over six innings. Strasburg (14-4) held Los Angeles to one run on three hits and struck out eight over six innings, ending his club-record scoreless streak at 35 innings, and Ryan Zimmerman homered twice as Washington avoided a three-game sweep.

Padres 4, Rockies 3 — At Denver, closer Greg Holland (3-6) dropped the ball trying to tag Matt Szczur at home on Austin Hedges’ squeeze bunt in the ninth as Colorado’s bullpen blew its first save in three weeks.

Cubs 4, Cardinals 3 — At Chicago, Jason Heyward hit a tiebreakin­g RBI single with two outs in the seventh as Chicago overcame a 3-0 deficit to win its sixth straight. Ben Zobrist drove in two runs for the Cubs.

Brewers 10, Marlins 3

— At Milwaukee, Travis Shaw, Jesus Aguilar and Manny Pina each had two hits in Milwaukee’s eight-run fourth as the Brewers lit up rookie Dillon Peters (0-2) for eight runs on nine hits in 3
