■ Cardinals 8, Reds 7, 10 innings — At Cincinnati, Dexter Fowler hit a tying homer in the eighth inning and a go-ahead double in the 10th, helping St. Louis to its second win in six games. Yadier Molina and Paul Dejong also connected for the Cardinals.

■ Giants 4, Rockies 3 — At San Francisco, Charlie Blackmon had a two-run double in the second inning for his first career 200-hit season, but contending Colorado lost and its lead for the second NL wild card dropped to a half-game.

■ Nationals 4, Braves 2 — At Atlanta, Max Scherzer (15-6) allowed five hits in seven innings, and Washington continued to tune up for the playoffs. Scherzer bounced back from his worst start of the season, also against the Braves last week.

■ Brewers 1, Pirates 0 — At Pittsburgh, Chase Anderson

(11-3) had eight strikeouts in six innings, Domingo Santana homered and Milwaukee shut out Pittsburgh for the second straight day. The Brewers won for the ninth time in 11 games.

■ Padres 6, Diamondbac­ks 2— At San Diego, Travis Wood (4-6) pitched six efficient innings and contribute­d two RBIS as San Diego kept Arizona from gaining ground in the NL wildcard race. Wood won for the first time since Aug. 19.

■ Marlins 5, Mets 4, 10 innings — At Miami, J.T. Realmuto homered in the 10th inning and Miami rallied for three runs in the ninth against former teammate A.J. Ramos. Realmuto homered off Las Vegas native Paul Sewald (0-6).
