State officials investigate package with powder
The Florida attorney general’s office has received a package with white powder and a Las Vegas return address on it, a Nevada official said Wednesday.
The delivery came this week after Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi traveled to Las Vegas with advocates to provide support to victims and families after the Oct. 1 Route 91 Harvest festival shooting.
It is not known if the package was sent from Nevada or whether there is a connection to Bondi’s trip to Las Vegas, said an official with the Nevada attorney general’s office who requested anonymity. Nevada officials had no information on whether the white powder was dangerous.
Bondi has faced death threats. In July 2016, an Orange County, Florida, county employee was arrested after emailing her a death threat from a work computer, according to Florida media accounts.
The Nevada attorney general’s office has been coordinating with Florida and federal agencies investigating the matter.
Officials from the Florida attorney general’s office didn’t respond to messages from the Review-journal.
