NLV man facing charges in April ’16 homicide case

North Las Vegas police arrested a 35-year-old man and accused him of murder in an April 2016 homicide.

Police spokesman Eric Leavitt said Raul Lara of North Las Vegas was arrested on a warrant Sept. 30 on the 1800 block of Loida Court, near Washburn Road and Clayton Street, with help from the Metropolit­an Police Department.

Lara was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of firstdegre­e murder with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Police named him as a suspect in an April 15, 2016, shooting. Police said it happened about 11:15 p.m. on the

2100 block of Carroll Street, near Lake Mead Boulevard and Civic Center Drive. Officers found a man outside with a gunshot wound. He died at University Medical Center.
