Desert Oasis-gorman game to be broadcast on Facebook

Friday’s prep football game between Desert Oasis and Bishop Gorman will be broadcast on Facebook.

The game is one of 17 around the country that will be broadcast on Facebook’s Watch platform through a partnershi­p with ASBN, a broadcast media services organizati­on.

The Gaels (5-2), who have won eight consecutiv­e state titles, host Desert Oasis (0-6) at 7 p.m. The high school broadcasts are scheduled to have live curated chats with fans.

Gorman has outscored local opponents 177-0 this season. Desert Oasis has been outscored 257-34.

Murdock switched from an I-formation to a spread offense this season to try to take advantage of that speed, and Renshaw said the new set suits the team’s personnel.

“We changed the offense up, because last year we were kind of a ground-and-pound team,” Renshaw said. “We’re all juniors, stronger, better, and the offensive system fits all the athletes. We’re definitely doing good this year.”
