Morgan goal helps U.S. women end year with win over Canada

Alex Morgan scored the go-ahead goal in the 56th minute, her team-leading seventh goal of the year, to help the U.S. women’s soccer team close out play this year with a 3-1 victory over Canada in San Jose, Calif.,

Julie Ertz scored in the 11th minute and Carli Lloyd in the 80th for the top-ranked Americans, who are 6-0-1 in their past seven matches and haven’t lost to Canada since 2001.
