EX-WTA standout Dokic says dad beat, belittled, spit at her

-

Former Wimbledon semifinalist Jelena Dokic says from a young age her father regularly beat and kicked her. He would pull her hair, spit in her face and belittle her with vile insults.

Dokic, 34, once ranked No. 4 in the world and the winner of five WTA titles, writes of her ordeal with Damir Dokic, also her coach, in an autobiography to be released this week.

Damir Dokic, who was banned indefinitely from all WTA Tour events after a series of public indiscretions, is living in Serbia and had no comment.
