One critical, three hurt in crash in central valley

One person was in critical condition and three others were injured after a Tuesday night crash in the central valley.

The crash was reported at 10:45 p.m. at Decatur Boulevard and Pennwood Avenue, according to Metropolit­an

Police Department Sgt. Robert Stauffer.

Police say a Mercury sedan traveling south on Decatur ran a red light and struck a Honda sedan traveling west on Pennwood. A female passenger in the Honda suffered critical injuries, police said. The Honda driver, another Honda passenger and the Mercury’s driver, Anthony Gibbons, also were hospitaliz­ed.

Gibbons was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol with substantia­l bodily harm.
