Tax rebate

I am 68 years old and on Social Security. The recently passed GOP tax bill will save me approximately $100, but unbelievably the Democrats in Nevada’s congressional delegation voted against it. The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center has stated that 80 percent of taxpayers will see tax relief. Just what planet do these people and the Democratic Party live on?

The Democrats are concerned only with spreading jealousy and envy with their continual class warfare poison. I could not care less that other more affluent, wealthy individuals — who,

by the way, pay most of the federal income taxes in this country — get more back. That is just plain old common sense, something which is clearly lacking in the Democratic Party. In addition, it is none of my business.

If people are so jealous and envious of those who are more wealthy and affluent, then I strong suggest they find out how to improve themselves. Otherwise, quit your complaining, and be thankful for what you have.

I’m an economics major, and everything I learned in college indicates the measure will be a great benefit to the country. I’m willing to give it a try and see what happens. Unfortunately, every single Democrat in the Senate voted against it. Should the bill be a success, I wonder how many staunch Democratic voters will support those same Senate members in the midterms next year.

I have always believed the rich had an advantage when it comes to paying taxes — they can afford expensive accountants who take advantage of every possible loophole. So I don’t much care if they retain that advantage, as long as I get to keep a little more of my money for a change. other execs and board members also make megabucks. Nice work if you can get it.

How are they allowed

to get away with this? This “nonprofit” organization sure is profitable for those folks. Oh, yes. The monorail even filed for bankruptcy protection, leaving the bondholders screwed. Is there no oversight for this? I remain confused. pain to see this happen.

But what causes me even more pain is that the school, located in the Silverado Ranch/maryland Parkway area, has decided that no one but the legal guardian may assist with homework, communicate with the teacher, review and sign the agenda or help the child study while in the home. My daughter gave the school a notarized statement giving me permission to assist with homework and other academic concerns, but it was denied by administration.

When I violated their rules, I was targeted by the administration/teacher and blocked from the fourthgrade class dojo app, denying even the child herself access to homework and test study guides. But strangers were allowed access in direct violation of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. When I brought this to their attention, I received the official answer of, “It’s our school policy.”

Since when did impeding the education of a child become district policy?
