TCU sets team mark with 17th straight win

FORT WORTH, Texas — Alex Robinson scored a season-high 23 points as No. 15 Texas Christian set a school record with its nation-leading 17th consecutiv­e win, beating William & Mary 86-75 on Friday.

Jaylen Fisher had 17 of his career-high 21 points in the second half to send the Horned Frogs (12-0) into Big 12 play unbeaten for the second time in four seasons.

The win streak includes the final five games of last season, when TCU won the National Invitation Tournament title.

The Frogs broke the previous school record of 16 straight wins under Billy Tubbs in 1997-98, the last time they made the NCAA Tournament.

Matt Milon made 6 of 11 3-pointers and totaled 22 points for the Tribe (7-4), who were within two points with 6½ minutes left.

Robinson and Fisher were a combined 17 of 27 from the field as TCU shot 62 percent.

■ At Cedar Falls, Iowa, J.P. Macura scored 15 points for the Musketeers (12-1), who went on a late 11-2 run and overcame 13 first-half turnovers to top the Panthers (8-4) for their seventh straight win.

At Wichita, Kan., Landry Shamet scored 23 points on 8-for-12 shooting for the Shockers (10-2) while his teammates combined to make 14 of 44 shots. Brian Goodwin scored 20 for the Eagles (7-7).
