Celtics’ Smart injured hitting picture frame, out two weeks
Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart will miss about two weeks after cutting his right hand hitting a picture frame on the wall at the team hotel.
Asked if there were concerns about
Smart’s temper given past flare-ups, including punching a hole in a wall after being sent to the locker room during a game at Washington, coach Brad Stevens said Smart needs to channel his emotions properly.
Smart, 23, has averaged 10.1 points and a career-high 4.7 assists per game this season, his fourth with Boston.
Also, the Celtics said forward Al Horford practiced Friday after the team confirmed he did not suffer a concussion when he was hit in the face in Tuesday’s loss to the Lakers.
Bucks: Police officers used a stun gun on rookie guard Sterling Brown and arrested the 22-year-old after a confrontation in a Walgreens parking lot at about 2 a.m. Friday. Police Sgt. Timothy Gauerke did not say what led to the officers’ use of force, and it wasn’t immediately known whether Brown was cited for anything.
Cavaliers: Guard Dwyane Wade was excused from the team to tend to a family matter, and his return has no timetable, coach Tyronn Lue said.
Nuggets: Rookie forward Tyler Lydon,
21, the No. 24 draft pick out of Syracuse, will miss four months after surgery on his left knee Friday, ESPN reported.
