Aces sign two, make a trade with Indiana

The Las Vegas Aces announced the free-agent signings of center Carolyn Swords and forward Tamera Young. They also traded center Kayla Alexander and a third-round pick in the 2019 WNBA draft to Indiana for a third-round pick in 2019.

Swords, 28, averaged 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 30 games with Seattle last season. She played for New York under current Aces coach Bill Laimbeer in 2015 and2016.

Young, 31, a 10-year league veteran, averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 35 games with Chicago and Atlanta in 2017.

Alexander, 27, was drafted by San Antonio in 2013 and spent her entire career with the franchise. She averaged 6.2 points and 3.1 rebounds last season.

Dream: Guard Renee Montgomery, 31, a nine-year WNBA veteran who won two league titles with Minnesota and averaged 8.0 points and

3.4 assists last season, signed a multiyear contract with Atlanta.

Sparks: Guard Odyssey

Sims, 25, the second pick in the 2014 WNBA draft who has career averages of 14.0 points and 3.8 assists, re-signed with Los Angeles.

Lynx: Four-time All-star forward Rebekkah Brunson, 36, a 14-year pro who averaged 10.2 points and 6.7 rebounds last season, re-signed with Minnesota.

Mirotic, 26, has averaged 16.8 points and 6.4 rebounds since missing this season’s first 23 games because of two broken bones in his face stemming from a fight in practice.

Nelson, 35, has averaged 5.1 points and 3.6 assists in 43 games this season.

Allen, 36, averaged 4.7 points before a broken leg sidelined him for 22 games.

Asik, 31, has averaged 1.3 points and2.6reboundsi­n14games.

Grizzlies: Tyreke Evans was not with Memphis for Thursday’s game as trade speculatio­n swirls around the veteran guard, who has averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds this season. Interim coach J.B. Bickerstaf­f said Evans, 28, is unlikely to play before Thursday’s trade deadline.

Heat: NBA commission­er Adam Silver selected guard

Goran Dragic, who has averaged 17.0 points and 4.8 assists this season, as an injury replacemen­t for Cleveland forward Kevin Love (broken left hand) on Team Lebron for the NBA All-star Game.

Suns: Center Greg Monroe, 27, who has averaged 11.3 points and 8.0 rebounds in 20 games this season, was waived in a buyout agreement, and the Louisiana native reportedly is leaning toward signing with New Orleans.
