Roads, ramps around Mccarran set for closures
Several roads and freeway ramps surrounding Mccarran International Airport are scheduled for intermittent closures this week, airport officials said.
The closures will allow crews to do repairs and maintenance work on the digital road signs that provide airport-specific information, Mccarran spokeswoman Christine Crews said.
The Sunset Avenue-airport Connector offramp will have lane restrictions from the eastbound 215 Beltway from 11 p.m. today to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
The Sunset Avenue-airport Connector offramp from the westbound 215 Beltway will close from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 4 a.m. Wednesday and from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday.
Southbound Paradise Road will have lane restrictions between Tropicana Avenue and Russell Road from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.
Eastbound Russell Road will have lane restrictions between Eastern Avenue and Surrey Street from 11 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. Temperatures are expected to drop slightly Tuesday with a 73-degree high and light winds that could gust up to 20 mph in some parts of the valley.
Sunday’s high temperature was one degree shy of the 76-degree record set in 1953, the National Weather Service said.
Wednesday is expected to be cooler, with a 69-degree high. Tuesday and Wednesday could both have lingering cloud cover.
Sunny skies are expected to return to the valley Thursday, with a 72-degree high. A high of 73 degrees is expected on Friday. Lows for the week could reach the upper 40s, the weather service said.
The average high for this time of year is 60 degrees, the weather service said.
