Pistons find balance, win again

Griffin gets help, upends Portland

- The Associated Press

DETROIT — Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy worried over the weekend that his team was becoming too reliant on Blake Griffin.

That wasn’t a problem Monday. Andre Drummond had 17 points and 17 rebounds as Detroit beat the Portland Trail Blazers 111-91 for its fourth straight victory. The Pistons had 36 assists on 44 field goals and had six players with at least 12 points.

Detroit has won three in a row with Griffin in the lineup after acquiring him in a trade last week. He had 21 points, nine rebounds and six assists, hitting three 3-pointers, against Portland.

Griffin had plenty of help. Anthony Tolliver had 15 points, and Reggie Bullock and Langston Galloway added 13 apiece.

Lillard scored 20 points and C.J. Mccollum 14 for the Blazers, who lost again after falling at the buzzer Sunday at Boston.

At Sacramento, Calif., Bogdan Bogdanovich hit a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 52 seconds left for Sacramento, which overcame a 21-point first-half deficit.

At Indianapolis, Bradley Beal scored 21 points for Washington,

Kings 104, Bulls 98 — Wizards 111, Pacers 102 —

which won its fifth straight — all without injured John Wall.

At Miami, Mario Hezonja scored 20 points for Orlando, which went ahead to stay on Jonathan Simmons’ dunk with 1:31 left. At New Orleans, Rodney Hood scored 30 points for Utah, which shot 58.4 percent and won its sixth straight.

At Denver, Gary Harris had 27 points and Nikola Jokic 15 points and 16 rebounds for Denver.

At Los Angeles, Danilo Gallinari scored 28 points for Los Angeles, which closed on a 13-0 run.
