French jumper, 19, ends Canadian reign

-

Perrine Laffont, 19, gave France its first women’s gold medal in the 26-year history of moguls, landing both of her jumps without a bobble for 79.72 points.

Justine Dufour-lapointe of Canada finished second, more than two points behind Laffont, to add silver to the gold she took four years ago in Sochi.

Yulia Galysheva of Kazakhstan won bronze to give her country its eighth Winter medal since it started competing separately after the Soviet Union’s breakup.
