Sabres’ Eichel injured, out four to six weeks

-

Buffalo center Jack Eichel is expected to miss four to six weeks with a right ankle sprain suffered Saturday in the Sabres’ win at Boston, coach Phil Housley said.

Eichel, 21, was hurt in the first period when he fell awkwardly after being checked from behind by defenseman Matt Grzelcyk.

Eichel leads Buffalo with 22 goals and 53 points in 55 games in his third season since being selected with the No. 2 pick in the 2015 draft.

He became the franchise’s highest-paid player after signing an eight-year, $80 million contract extension in October.

Kings: Right wing Dustin Brown was suspended one game without pay, costing him $31,586, for kneeing Tampa Bay defenseman Mikhail Sergachev in Los Angeles’ loss Saturday. Brown was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for the secondperiod play.
