Gorman product Murray told he will be released by Titans

The Tennessee Titans informed running back Demarco Murray that he will be released, leaving Derrick Henry as their No. 1 running back.

The Bishop Gorman product has two years of non-guaranteed money left on his contract. He was to make $6.5 million in 2018.

Murray, 30, had career lows for rushing yards (659) and yards per carry (3.6) despite starting 15 games in 2017. He also was hampered by injuries and was inactive for the Titans’ two playoff games because of a knee injury.

Murray led the NFL in rushing in 2014 while with Dallas, when he ran for 1,845 yards.

Seahawks: Seattle is expected to release cornerback­s Richard Sherman, 29, and Jeremy Lane, 27, saving $15.75 million in salary-cap space for 2018, the Seattle Times reported. Also, former Carolina running back Jonathan Stewart, 30, a Seattle-area native, visited the Seahawks, NFL Network reported.

Rams: Los Angeles will acquire Pro Bowl cornerback Aqib Talib from Denver for a fifthround 2018 draft pick, ESPN reported. Also, the Rams agreed to terms with former Green Bay Pro Bowl cornerback Sam Shields, 30, who has not played since being concussed in the 2016 opener.

Scouting combine: NFL Players Associatio­n executive director Demaurice Smith said the team that asked former Louisiana State running back Derrius Guice if he likes men should not be permitted to participat­e in future combines.

Dolphins: Former offensive lineman Jonathan Martin had a loaded shotgun, a knife and an ax when he was taken into custody last month, TMZ reported. Also, wide receiver Jarvis Landry signed his franchise tender.

Bills: Defensive end Owa Odighizuwa,

25, a third-round draft pick of the Giants in 2015 who was waived after a four-game PED suspension, agreed to a one-year deal with Buffalo.

Redskins: The team will give Super Bowl rings to the replacemen­t players who helped Washington to a 3-0 record during the players strike in 1987, owner Daniel Snyder said.

Broncos: The team exercised its option on cornerback Chris Harris’ contract, which calls for him to make $7.4 million in 2018 and $7.8 million in 2019.

Buccaneers: Tampa Bay agreed to terms with backup quarterbac­k Ryan Fitzpatric­k, 35, the Tampa Bay Times reported. Terms were not disclosed.

49ers: Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, 27, agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $20.3 million, with $10 million guaranteed.

Bengals: Wide receiver Tyler Boyd had all drug charges against him from a July arrested dropped at a hearing in Pittsburgh.

Steelers: Running back Le’veon Bell said he plans to skip training camp if he doesn’t receive a long-term contract.

Texans: Punter Shane Lechler, 41, agreed to a one-year, $1.4 million contract to play a 19th NFL season.
