IS member’s release sought

TREBES, France — The gunman who seized hostages inside a supermarket Friday and killed three people in southern France demanded the release of the only surviving member of the Islamic State cell that attacked Paris in November 2015, the French interior minister said.

Before he was fatally shot by police, the 26-year suspect in the Trebes hostagetaking demanded the liberation of Salah Abdeslam, Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said.

The verdict for the trial is set for April 29.
