El Paso extends 51s’ early woes

Raffy Lopez had four hits, while Travis Jankowski and Brett Nicholas recorded three apiece as the El Paso Chihuahuas defeated the 51s 10-0 in a Pacific Coast League game Sunday at Southwest University Park in El Paso, Texas.

Lopez homered, doubled and singled twice, driving home three runs and scoring a pair. Jankowski doubled and singled twice, plating three runs and scoring a couple.

El Paso (7-4) opened the scoring in the first inning when Nick Schulz and

Lopez hit RBI singles. The Chihuahuas scored in three additional innings, including a six-run fifth.

Starter Mickey Jannis (0-2) took the loss for Las Vegas (3-8) after allowing three runs and six hits over four innings.
