Stevie Wonder ready for a run on Strip
SWonder has plans for a working summer vacation in Las Vegas. According to published reports, Wonder told the crowd at a private VIP performance at the Peppermint Club in West Hollywood, California, late Thursday night that he plans to perform shows this year to celebrate life, love and music.
Wonder didn’t specify the venue or dates, but sources with knowledge of his schedule indicate he will perform five shows at the Park Theater late this summer, most likely in August. (I tweeted about the likelihood of a Wonder engagement April 21.) The Park Theater has no music concert ticket sales posted for that month, but comic headlines there Aug. 21.

Wonder, who turns 68 on Sunday, also plans to finish his long-awaited album “Through the Eyes of Wonder” by the end of the year. He is inviting fans and celebrities to send videos expressing their dreams to his Twitter page with the #DreamstillLives hashtag.
The Chainsmokers and

Over the years, Wonder has performed at multiple Las Vegas venues, including The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve 2011 and the MGM Grand Garden arena in 2014. His most recent ticketed show in Las Vegas was during Life is Beautiful in May 2015.

“Rick comes in once in a while, and we invited him to bring the dog down and hang out for a little bit,” Raymer, who with King is a devoted Golden Knights fan, said in a phone chat.
“We’re setting up a formal meet-and-greet at Donut Mania in a couple of weeks so Bark-andre can meet some of his fans.”
The saber scene

After Morimoto salvaged the photo op, I asked Rapoport what is Las Vegas’ next food frontier.
“We know that the big question is about off-the-strip options. … We know that the game on-strip is going to be top-notch, with the best and biggest names in the world,” Rapoport said. “But how do you continue to develop the restaurants and the talent off the Strip enough so that when visitors come to Vegas, they are compelled to go check out the city beyond where they are staying?”
As Rapoport noted, national media coverage of the Vegas culinary scene remains focused on the Strip.
“That’s where everyone is staying. That’s where the visitors are. That’s where the money is,” he said. “But there is obviously great talent offStrip, as well.”
This is a good topic of conversation the next time I dine at Esther’s Kitchen in the heart of the Arts District.
