The 32-year-old left-hander signed a minor league deal with New

York in March but has not made an appearance in 2018.

Rays: First baseman/ outfielder Jake Bauers, one of Tampa Bay’s top prospects, was recalled from Triple-a Durham, and first baseman/ second baseman Brad Miller was designated for assignment.

Athletics: Right-hander Paul Blackburn (right forearm strain) was activated from the disabled list, and catcher Bruce Maxwell was optioned to Triple-a Nashville.
