Cubs 2, Dodgers 1, 10 innings, Game 2 - At Chicago, Albert Almora Jr. hit a game-ending RBI single in the 10th inning, and Chicago salvaged a split of its daynight doublehead­er with Los Angeles.

Rockies 10, Mets 8 — At Denver, Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story and Ian Desmond homered in succession during a six-run third inning, German Marquez (5-7) pitched effectivel­y for six innings and Colorado snapped an eight-game home losing streak.

Giants 6, Marlins 3 — At San Francisco, Buster Posey homered in the first, Gorkys Hernandez hit a two-run drive in the second and an RBI double later, and San Francisco held its during another night of plunking by both pitching staffs.

Cardinals 7, Phillies 6 — At Philadelph­ia, Matt Carpenter hit a tiebreakin­g solo homer with two out in the ninth, helping St. Louis edge Philadelph­ia. Carpenter also had a tying two-run double in the Cardinals’ four-run seventh.

Brewers 3, Pirates 2 — At Pittsburgh, rookie Freddy Peralta (2-0) allowed two hits in six stellar innings, Jesus Aguilar hammered his 14th home run of the season and Milwaukee cooled off Pittsburgh.
