Edelman has appeal hearing in PED case

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman’s appeal of his four-game suspension for violating the league’s performanc­eenhancing drug policy was heard Monday.

Edelman, who enlisted New Yorkbased attorney Alex Spiro in his defense, reportedly argued the NFL made mistakes in the manner in which the test results were handled.

An ultimate ruling in the case has no timetable, though it reportedly could come next week.
