Coach Kerr reportedly lands big extension with Warriors

Steve Kerr, who has won three championsh­ips with the Golden State Warriors, agreed to a contract extension that will make him one of the NBA’S highest-paid coaches, ESPN reported.

Kerr, 52, who is 265-63 in the regular season and 63-20 in the postseason, has guided the Warriors to four straight NBA Finals. He also won five titles as a player.

Clippers: Center Deandre Jordan, 29, who has spent all 10 of his NBA seasons with Los Angeles and averaged 15.2 rebounds in 2017-18, opted out of his $24.1 million player option for 2018-19, clearing the way for him to likely sign a free-agent deal with Dallas, ESPN reported.

Lakers: Guard Lonzo Ball, who averaged 10.2 points. 7.2 assists and 6.9 rebounds in 52 games as a rookie last season, has a torn meniscus in his left knee but is expected to be ready for the start of the season, Yahoo Sports reported.

Mavericks: Dallas declined the $5 million team option for 13-time All-star forward Dirk Nowitzki, 40, to create salary-cap space in its pursuit of free-agent center Deandre Jordan, ESPN reported.

Knicks: Center Enes Kanter, 26, who averaged 14.1 points and 11.0 rebounds in 71 games in 2017-18, opted into his $18.6 million contract for 2018-19 rather than becoming a free agent.

Pistons: Sidney Lowe and Sean Sweeney were hired as assistant coaches, and Malik Rose was named assistant general manager. 34, facing myriad felony rape-related charges that could put him in prison for life, was denied bail by a San Diego judge, who cited fears that Winslow would try to flee.

Eagles: Linebacker Nigel Bradham was suspended for one game for violating the NFL’S personal conduct policy, stemming from a July 2016 arrest by Miami Beach police on suspicion of battery/aggravated assault.

Draft: Former Oregon State linebacker Bright Ugwoegbu, one of four players eligible for the July 11 supplement­al draft, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.97 seconds at his pro day.

Buccaneers: Guard J.R. Sweezy, 29, who signed a five-year, $32.5 million contract in 2016 and played 14 games last season, was released.

Colts: The NFL suspended running back Robert Turbin for four games for violating the league’s policy on performanc­e-enhancing drugs.
